Toothaches
Most toothaches are not easy to ignore. Sometimes it can even cause the type of pain that prevents someone from functioning normally. If one or more of your teeth is really hurting and you’re in need of fast relief, there are a few things you can do immediately.
- Rinse and floss around the tooth. If there is something stuck and causing pain (such as a stray piece of food), rinsing and flossing around the tooth should alleviate the pain.
- Salt water rinse. Mix a single tablespoon of salt in a glass of warm water and then rinse and gargle. Repeat if necessary. This process may draw out the fluids from the gums that are causing the irritation and may also relieve the pain.
- Over the counter pain reliever. Taking an over the counter pain reliever may help manage any discomfort.
Be sure to call our dental clinic to make an appointment as soon as possible so we can prevent any additional damage.
Broken or Knocked Out Teeth
Broken or knocked out teeth are some of the most common dental emergencies we see, whether they’re the result of a sports-related injury, motor vehicle accident, or a slip and fall. We are often able to save even the most severely damaged teeth and can replant ones that have been completely dislodged.
Do you have a broken tooth? Recover as much of the tooth as you can and give our office a call to schedule an emergency dental appointment as soon as possible. Someone from our team will walk you through any necessary steps you should take before you’re able to make it to our office.
